This is an opening monologue for the Colbert Report that I have written. For those who don’t know, the Colbert Report is a satirical show in which the host, Stephen Colbert makes fun of the right by cartooning himself as right wing himself. It is light hearted and fun, and Colbert’s delivery style is quite earnest. If you are wondering why I’m not getting as many of my notes onto here as I was previously, this class is one of the reasons. It is a fantastic class, but it, along with Writing 2, is a massive amount of extra work, and I am discovering I am in need of sleep every now and then damn it! My first day off of this whole trip is today, so I am getting some of the writing done, I’ve done some sightseeing and I’m off to watch what is supposed to be the best improvisers in Chicago tonight, TJ & Dave.
In fact, I will soon be doing an entry covering the day off and it will even have some photos. Nice.

Today I had my first class at the iO, a place that I will surely call home over the next couple of months from the shear number of classes I will be doing in this building. There are about 10 of us in the class and, gathered around a table on the top floor of the building, we did the usual introductions. It turns out that people have been talking and I am becoming well known as the nutter who is doing a ridiculous number of classes!
